Corrections and removals
If a profile is wrong, or a review breaks our rules, email us. A person reads every request.
How to ask
Email [email protected]. On every profile, the “Report an error” link starts this email for you. Please include:
- the link to the profile,
- what is wrong, or what you want removed,
- what it should say instead, with a source if you have one,
- whether you are the researcher, or write for them.
What happens next
- We confirm that we received your email within 3 working days.
- We decide within 30 days and tell you what we did and why.
- When a fact is wrong at the source (OpenAlex), we correct or hide it here and tell you how to correct it at the source, so that it stays correct.
- When an indicator is wrong because its data is wrong, we correct the data. We do not change the rules for one person: the same rules apply to everyone.
- When a review breaks the terms, we remove it or edit out the part that breaks them.
For researchers
You can add a public response to the reviews on your profile. Write to us from your institutional address, or show in another way that the profile is yours. You can also object to your profile as a whole. We then weigh your reasons against the public interest in the information, as the privacy policy explains.
